You decided on goodbye

Every dog deserves a safe next step.

We understand that surrendering a dog is never an easy decision. It often comes after a lot of thought, emotion, and difficult circumstances. Our role is not to judge, but to support both you and your dog through this transition with care, respect, and compassion. Choosing to surrender is still a choice made out of love—a step toward giving your dog a safe, stable future when you no longer can.

Thank you for considering their safety!

Our Surrender Process

1. Fill out the form

Start by completing our surrender form—it gives us the information we need to understand your dog’s background, needs, and situation. We know this is a tough decision, and we’re here to support you with care and without judgment.

2. Assessment & planning

Once we’ve reviewed your form, we’ll reach out to discuss next steps, including timing, vet needs, and whether you’re able to hold onto your dog while we secure a foster.

3. Surrender & transition

When space is confirmed, we’ll arrange the handoff—either directly to a foster or one of our team members. A $200 surrender fee helps cover medical care, food, and supplies.

4. A fresh start

Your dog begins their next chapter in a safe, loving home. We make sure they get the care they need and, if you’d like, we can keep you updated along the way.

Our Fees

The surrender fee per dog is $200, payable in full at the time of pick-up.

The fee for multiple dog surrenders may be negotiated on a case-to-case basis.

Why do we charge a surrender fee?

We charge a surrender fee to help cover the cost of veterinary care, food, and supplies for your dog while in our care. This contribution allows us to continue rescuing and responsibly rehoming dogs in need. It ensures we can provide each dog with a safe, healthy transition.
